The faculty of Engineering in the University was started in 1996 with a 4 year B.E. Biomedical Instrumentation Engineering. It is the premier institution in South India to have this B.E.degree course. The department has a very good infrastructure in the laboratories. The unique feature of this course is the hospital internship training given to the students during the seventh semester.

The tie-up will help the students in placement, industry training, project assistance and technical guidance. Seminars and Lectures will be arranged in the University. Research activities at the University campus will get a boost. The R & D centre of Vital will also help faculty implement their ideas to develop low cost products suitable for the masses in rural India and help develop prototype of equipment. The University will also get technical assistance in developing the laboratories to International standards. The University along with Vital Bio Systems will interact to develop an equipment testing laboratory to perform calibration and validations jointly.
